Avatar

Today is my mum's birthday, she's now 46. For a birthday treat, we went to The Corriander (B'mouth), and then went on to see a film. The film, as you may have guessed, was called Avatar.

I'm not going to give anything away, but it is simply the best film I have ever had the privilege of seeing. I saw it in 3D, and this enhances the experience. It was a truly fantastic film. The 3D made it engaging, the voice acting was excellent, and so was the acting in general. I didn't want the film to end, and when it did, I had the feeling that a new generation of film was nigh.

I rate this as highly as possible. It is the BEST film I have ever seen, without hesitation, or exaggeration. GO SEE IT!

Great Music...

From James Bonney! He recently posted a link on the ol' Facebook to his Myspace, an I'm currently listening to his recorded songs.

They're really good. None of them sound the same as the other, all of them are unique. As usual, Jame's guitar skills are top notch. His singing was great as well!

Another great band that I'm listening to is Journey. They're an eighties band, and I like them. I'm not sure what I like about them, but I do.

Brendan Benson. A great solo artist. I got his new album for Christmas, and highly recommend it. Although, it's not as good as his first album (in my humble opinion), but it is great.

Mini-lation

Minilation = Mini Revelation.

I have decided to only blog when I have something to blog about. It almost becomes a chore when you blog about nothing for days on end...

Yah. Anyways. Had a nice day out with the 'fam' (excluding mother), and I've now decided to buy new Mobile phone. My current mobile phone is a Sony Erricson k800i, and I've had it for about two years, and I'm getting bored of it. It also freezes frequently, and is a general nuisance. The phone I want to buy, is the LG Cookie K-something or other, I forget. It's a 'touch screen' phone, and it has many 'apps' (AKA Applications) available for it.

Ah, blogging.

Boxing Day

It has been nice. I've always found Boxing Day to be a relaxing day, of appreciating how good Christmas was. And that it has been so far.

Firstly, I was woken up prematurely at 10:00am. Wasn't particularly happy, but I got over it. I then had breakfast, and went on to play with some of my presents. 'Twas good!

The family and I then went on to visit my grandparents that live in Barton. It was really nice, had a nice chat with them, received some money from them, ate lunch, chatted some more, then left.

We now have some friends round. Gill and Rod Jones. Very nice people, they gave me and my brother £20 game vouchers EACH, then my little sister a £10 book, and my big sister a shirt. That's at least £50 to spend on people who aren't even family! I was chuffed to bits! (Not Mr Evans' version of Chuff/Chuffing!)

I'm now listening to Journey's Greatest Hits. Very good, entertaining!

Nearly there!

It's Christmas Eve's Eve! Yes, me and my siblings were that sad when we were a few years younger, but it's still funny!

Rather excited, if I'm totally honest. On Christmas eve, we (the family and I) are visiting friends, exchanging cards, and other such festivities, I reckon it'sa gonna be a good'un.

Ice! Ice! Ice everywhere! It's horrible, I didn't go out today just because of the ice. I've had reports from friends of just how slippery it is!

Well, that wasn't a very good blog post, was it?

Ah well. Next time.

_

Apologies, I couldn't think of a witty title.

Recently, I watched a brilliant film, the most recent Star Trek. It's absolutely a-m-a-z-i-n-g! It's got great special effects, great acting and great dialogue! Best film I've ever seen.

Maaaaan. I'm feeling a bit cut-off from society recently. I haven't invited, or been invited, to go anywhere with any of my friends. I hate it. Feeling a little unwanted really.

Ah well, Christmas is a time of family. On the subject, Christmas is only 3 days away! I don't like it when people say 'sleeps', it really annoys me. What if you have a nap? That counts as a 'sleep', does it not?

Anyways, hopefully I'll socialise a bit more before the holidays are out.

Another day, another post....sighhhh.

Well, as the title says, another day, another post.

I find myself bound to the duty of posting daily. It makes me feel bad if I don't 'blog' once a day. It's like feeding a pet once a day, but instead of a dog/cat/panda, I'm feeding a female Blogisus Worldwiewebbinen named Carol. I feed it words, whilst being digested as binary, and comes out the other end as mindless babble. I'd feel bad if I didn't feed my dog/cat/panda/Blogisus Worldwiewebbinen, wouldn't you?

Anywho, it's now closer to five days than six to Christmas, and, as happens every year, I start off thinking to myself "I'm not very excited, hell, I may have grown up a bit!". But as happens every year, I feel my excitement growing an growing until on Christmas day I wake up at 8:00am yelling "IT'S CHRISTMAS! EVERYONE WAKE UP!".

Ah, the fun of youth.

By the by, just so you know, I didn't mean to put my text in italic bold beyond "grown up a bit!", I clicked on it once, and now it won't go back. Oh well!

Good tidings to ye!

Ahhh, finally. The end of term is here, and we're looking at two weeks of funfunfun!

Christmas is in one week, which I'm looking forward too a lot, mum's birthday, new years at Sharron's house. It's gonna be 'fandabidosey' as Miss(mrs?) Burden would say!

Alas, with term being over, that means Mr Barnes, 10.6's TA, is leaving! He was an absolute legend. He was funny, cool and really fun to be around, he will be missed greatly!

Well, fellow bloggers, it's come to the time where I must bid you a due.

Really?! Already?!

Snow! And a reasonable downfall of it too!

I were walkin' 'ome from school, I was, when I saw lots of those white little things, I did! It was quite good! lots of snowflakes fluttering down from the sky...

It then stopped, and I was gutted.

Wednesday 16 December 2009

Why even bother?

The last week of term. I'm sure all schools have it, and it's the same for everyone.

*Maths = Coordinates that make a Christmas based object.
*English = Watch a film
*Modern Foreign Languages = Christmas card
*Science = Watch a "documentary", AKA a film that was on BBC/ITV that a teacher recorded on a video cassette, not even bothering to try a more modern approach.

Those are the main'uns. It's all fun and games in year 7-9, but after that, it's downright boring! I's the same every year! I'd rather do something challenging to take my mind off of Christmas, then spend an hour drawing a 'chuffing' (thanks Mr Evans!) Christmas tree! It's not hard people!

This brings me to the question, why do we even bother coming into school? I don't really want to, it's a complete waste of time. I guess that's the price to pay for having my parents, eh?

From this post, I may seem like a very anti-Christmas person. I'm really not, I love it. Every aspect of it, it's great! I just want school to not insist on making the last week of school so unnecessary!

Well, fellow bloggers, it's come to the time where I must bid you a due.

Three Years Today,

Three years ago today, my grandad, Anthony Simmonds, passed away because of Motor Neurone Disease (MND). As people that were in my Geography group in Year 9 know, Motor Neurone Disease attacks the muscles in people's body, so eventually they can't even speak.

My grandad was great. He was kind, caring and funny. He always had a dry sense of humour, but it still made us all laugh. He'd always tell us jokes and/or riddles at the dinner table, they were always good as well.

He always loved birds. Along with my grandma, they'd know the name of a bird within seconds of you describing it.

I miss him a lot, and I just wanted to write this small blog entry as a small tribute to him.

We love you, Grandad.

The Gibbins Family.

Jimmeny Cricket! Christmas is nigh!

Oh, the joy! The festivities, the preparation, the fun!

I absolutely love Christmas. Of late, I have been reveling in the spirit of Christmas, and it's been great. We bought our Christmas tree today (£50!), and we are decorating it tomorrow. It's going to be fun fun fun!

Anyway, back to the Christmas feelin'. I have been remembering past Christmases, where all I have looked forward to is the presents. However, recently, I have found myself not looking forward to the presents, but the Family aspect of Christmas Day. I'm looking forward to Christmas lunch, talking, joking, and reminiscing with family about things that have happened recently, and things that are not so recent.

Ah, I have found myself ranting. Again. Oops!

Why oh why oh why?!

...Does everyone on Facebook have to put every moment from Gavin & Stacey in their statuses? Some of us haven't watched it yet! It's like this with some reality Television shows, EG - I'm A Celebrity (that being the only one I really watch(ed) now). People decide to post the results, it's oh so frustrating!

My lawd.

Anyhow, Let this blog not be one of sorrow, but one of joy as well! I've started feelin' festive! Two weeks until Christ's Mass (the original name, who knew?), and The Gibbins Family are buying a Christmas (meh, I prefer it this way) tree this weekend!

Om nom nom!

The phrase 'om nom nom':

The word comes from a website called 'I can has cheezburger?!', and is a phrase to express that the current food being eaten is yummy.

I've taken a particular liking to this phrase. I like the way your mouth moves when you say it!

I'm particularly excited for my dessert tonight, as I have cooked a rather tasty lookin' Yule Log. It took about two hours to make, and it looks extremely tasty! A dark chocolate gnash, over a swiss roll with whipped double cream in the middle. Perfect in every way! We even used the points on the top of forks to make a 'log' sort of look, it's brilliant! And to top it off, I put a holly leaf on it, and dusted the whole thing with icing sugar. As Nessa would say, "Tidy!"

Thursday! Yes! That means Gavin & Stacey tonight! What an excellent show!

Well, fellow bloggers, it's come to the time where I must bid you a due.

Bloggin' frenzy!

I've just brought up my blog, to see a cacophony (thank you james) of different blog posts! It's brilliant! You may be inquiring as to why I think this is so great, blogging is a common event to some, but as of today, the most recent post I had seen was James Bonney's 'Casio Cacophony' (Get the little reference I put in at the beginning, eh eh?).

It is uplifting to know I am not the only one who blogs nigh on once a day now!

Not the most interesting day today.

However, I have just received a book from my father. He highly recommends it, and I would quite like something to read at the moment. It's called 'Faerie Tale', by a man called Raymond Efeist. It could be Raymond E. Feist, but I'm not sure. Although the title has the word 'Faerie' in the title, you can tell it's a serious book, because it has spelled faerie quite differently to fary tales. I'm looking forward to reading this book, as it seems like a very good read.

I am also content, as I have got a small list of books to read after 'Faerie Tale'...:
1) The Hobbit - J.R.R Tolken,
2) The Lord of the Rings trilogy,
3) Magician - Raymond Efeist (or is it E. Feist?!)

After that, I'm not sure. But the LOTR trilogy should keep me goin' a while.

Italian stallion?

Dove sei andare con mio fratello! Vorrei scrivere una lettera di reclamo all'agenzia per questi problemi! Non ho un buon divertimento in suo albergo! Quando sono andato alla doccia, mancava l'acqua calda!
Mio dio!

Freestyle Italian, you never know what you'll end up with!

Sorry, felt like posting that. I put it into google translate when I finished, and...well. Voila!

Translation:
Where are you going with my brother! I would write a letter of complaint to the Agency for these problems! I didn't have a lot of fun in his hotel! When I went to the shower, there was no hot water!
My god!

Dammit!

I said to myself, " I will keep this blog up 'n' running". Well, I haven't posted for about 4 days (Say it ain't so!). So here's a new 'un!

Well, there isn't much I can post if I'm completely and utterly truthful. English was a bit of a drag today. Finding quotes from To Kill A Mockingbird, for the character Aunt Alexandra, from page 132, to the end of the book. We only had forty minutes, and I only gathered about 13-15 quotes. Fun times!

Other than that I've been mindlessly pouring over Facebook and the sly digs at people through someones status, it's surprising fun.

I'm currently getting into Journey a lot at the moment, and that general genre of music. I must say it's nice to be listening to something different for a change. I'm even considering buying their album, or obtaining it for christmas, or through other ways >.> (I believe that 'emoticon' represents "shifty eyes")! I'm gonna take a look on eBay/amazon now actually.

On that note, fellow bloggers, I must bid you a due. Bye!

Awful Weather!

The title says it all really.

However, I feel inclined to tell you all about my experience with the weather today. I was in IT with my fellow classmates, when a sudden flash of light flashed in the classroom. A few seconds later, a tremendous clap of thunder happened. I think it must have happened right above the building we were in, or at least over the school, it was ridiculously loud!

And now, as I'm writing this blog entry, I can hear the rain lashing the windows, and the wind whistling through the trees. It makes me glad I have a house, to be completely honest!

1/12/09 - What a day!

I have had one of the best school days I've had this year.

The day started off with double physics, which is always fun. Although, the lesson wasn't as good second period, as a lot of my friends had to leave at the beginning. It was good though.

Next, I attended Biology, which, as usual, was ok. It wasn't anything special, but it wasn't horrible either.

Next, was maths. Again, it was ok, but I learned something, so it wasn't completely useless.

Last, and by no means least, was English. This has rapidly become my favourite lesson of this year. Due to the fact that some of the usual readers weren't there, we had to assign roles to other people. I became Jem, Georgia became Scout, Johnny (sp?) became Atticus. As we read through To Kill A Mockingbird, we came to a part where Dr Stevens assigned Michael a role. As he was reading, one of the words he said came out in a surprisingly Russian accent. He then went on to say all of his lines like that. It was fantastic!

That lesson made my day. Joking around with Ellie Boddy (who would listen :L) and Maddy Bell. Great!
